Geese

Geese

1. As each goose flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the birds that follow. By flying in a V formation, the whole flock adds 71% extra flying range.

LESSON : People who share a sense of community can HELP each other get where they are going more easily - because they are traveling on the trust of each other.

2. When a goose falls out of formation it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back to take advantage of the lifting power of the birds in front.

Lesson: if we have as much sense as geese we stay in formation with those headed where we went to go. We are willing to accept Help and give our help to others because they are travelling on the trust of one another.  This means to our group:

Working together and not leaving anyone behind helping one another and encouraging each other.

Helping someone if they fall or fail and helping them until the end and not giving up.

3.When the lead goose tires, it drops back into formation and another goose flies to the point position.

LESSON: It pays to TAKE TURNS doing the hard tasks. We should RESPECT and PROTECT each other's unique arrangement of skills =This means to our group:

Taking turns to lead the group to victory all ways helping one another to get to the end .

4.  The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up front to keep up with their speed. lesson. we need to make sure our honing is inherited in groups their is engorgement, production is much greater. individual empower rustilst from queatu honking This means to our group:

Always encourage each other to help them on their way.

5. When a goose gets sick m two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. lesson, if we have as much sense geese we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong

Friday again wow that week went fast.

Extending school by 1 hour

Extending school

Dear the select committee extending school that is a great Idea because us parents will get more time to ourselves I think that you should add an hour to school.

The children should not have homework though and you should lengthen morning tea by 15 minutes and they should have afternoon tea at school provided for them with a 20 minute break. The rest of the time should be taken up by pe.       

We have been learning about parliament because we're going on a trip to it.

The first week back at school.

The first week back at school was fun and we did a lot of maths reading writing was so cool because we were writing narratives. We had a reliever for the whole week apart from monday. 

This is my narrative so far but it is not finished yet.

Cheerleader

The day started off fine and I thought “huh boring” I said to my best friend Ella we were sitting in english class the teacher said we were going on a trip to parliament we were going to wellington. 4 hours on the bus I screamed in my head. I hate going on class trips I thought. The bell rang at that same moment in time the whole class of about 30 people tried to get out of the door it didn’t really work I decided that I would just wait until the last person went out of the door. That took about 3 minutes.

I was rushing to my next class, which I was not happy about having, because it was the meanest teacher in the school, and if I was late I would get detention after school, which by the way finishes at 3 o’clock. I had to get to my house straight after school because my mum is in labour.

I was 27 seconds late I got off with a warning luckily, all the kids in my class were upset because they were all given detention because of the door bunch. I was not having that bad a day to make it better I had cheerleading tryouts at lunchtime so I am going to be hungry after school.

There was this boy that wouldn’t stop staring at me? I asked him not to but that didn’t work. Why wouldn’t he stop? it was better to look away I thought to myself so that’s what I did. Math class was dumb we got told to get out our rulers I got it out straight away or I probably would have gotten detention.

Our next class was nature it was fun and we get to bring our pets in to school for pet day I am going to bring my jellyfish to school tomorrow. Ella is going to bring her seal called Annalise Broadley her nickname is gerald, the jellyfish is called Tiffany ward her nickname is Tiffy.

The bell rang it was lunchtime my heart started pounding like the back of a dragonfly like the wings were bumping into my back, as hard as a rock, being pushed into my spine, or a dagger being plunged into my back. I got out of the classroom as fast as I could, I ran down the corridor, into the gym, I was the first student there, I sat there for a little while and then every other girl in my class showed up even daniel showed up yes daniel is a boy huh weird I didn’t think that he would show up oh and while we’re on the topic daniel is the boy who wouldn’t stop staring at me I still don’t know why he was doing that anyway back to the story.

There was something weird about daniel, he also had a mustache, I think that it was fake though, it kind of gives it away because he has brown hair, and he has a red curly mustache. He talks kind of weird as well and to top it all off he’s at cheerleading tryouts “now I have got to say that is a weird boy”.

We got told to do a roll easy as pie, then a bridge I wobbled a bit but fine, after a cartwheel, then a backwards roll, after that was a cheer. I was really tired after that it made me pant I was so out of breath. 

Back to school

We are back to school this week and it has been fun but gone very very fast I hope next week we have our teacher back because she left but that was only because she was sick.

The Highlight of my term!

  It is the last Week of school for the term! 

OMG the end of term! 

I can not believe it is the end of the term already that went fast! 

The Highlights of my term are: That we had Mrs Lovatt for a whole week, That we had hockey this term, That we did really well in all of our hockey games, That I have Mrs Sturch for the rest of the year.    

Princess Leia

This week we found out who we are for the production! I am Princess Leia! I can't wait!

I can't believe it's this time already that week went so fast I don't know what happened. All I remember is that in food tech we made pita pizza's and next week we are doing planning for the Mama Mia pizza's that we are making in 2 weeks time. I love pizza and are going to load it with delicious toppings.  

Boys are better cooks than Girls not true

Boy are better cooks than Girls

I Disagree because there are a lot of very famous girl cooks all around the world. The most famous girl cook is Padma Lakshmi. Julia child is 8th place in the best cooks of all time. Boys can be okay sometimes maybe but girls are better.

Who do you find in the kitchen most of the time? Well I don’t know about you but I either find my mum or my step mum cooking up a storm in my kitchen I bet yours is the same.

Have you ever noticed that you mum finds the kitchen to be her quiet place. My mum only lets me in it to either get a snack or a drink but appart from that it’s out of bounds.

I know that girls are better cooks than boys.  Girls are obviously better cooks than boys or why would they let the girls cook every night except for BBQ when all they have to do is move the meat by turning it over with tongs or a spatula. That’s the only time you see your dad cooking. The only things they can cook are sausages, burger patties and steak but that’s it. On the other hand girls can make lasagna, salads, soup, spaghetti bolognese and many more but it would take way too long to name them all.

Boys can’t even make sandwiches and that is why girls are better cooks than boys.

Explain, Elabourate, Example

Mcdonald’s is a terrible takeaway Sometimes the crew puts gross things in it on accident and sometimes on purpose. What if you found something gross in your burger I don’t think that would make you happy.

Mcdonald’s puts fat in absolutely everything and they even put fat in the Ice cream.  Fat is not good for you and can make a difference in how you live by eating a lot of fat it can be harmful and make you fat your selves. Fat is not good for you it can be very bad for you. When you are fat or overweight it is a bad thing because you could die from it. When you are overweight it is bad for your health.   

When you have too much salt which Mcdonald’s puts to much of it on everything you can get heart attacks. That is not a good thing what happens when you get a heart attack is that a part usually a muscle stops working and can sometimes be very fatal. Sometimes it can even kill you. It is not good to get takeouts too often maybe once twice a month at the most.

Someone once found a rat bone in their burger at Mcdonald’s. Another thing that happened was that somebody found a burger they had purchased was half eaten. Doesn’t that sound gross? Well I think it would be pretty weird to have purchased a burger and to find someone else got to it first or to chew on your Big Mac and have a rat bone in it.  

It doesn’t matter what Mcdonald’s says they're just trying to get customers. Do you know what you are putting into your body when you eat Mcdonald’s? They are unhygienic so you can get sick from it. Did you know that they actually put poison in their food to keep away the rats.

That doesn’t sound good so would you want to put that in your body?    

Scones

This week in food tech we made scones. There were two flavours of scones one was: cheese, tomato paste, herbs and pineapple. The other one was: herbs, cheese and pineapple. Our group made the first batch. They were delicious.  

Dear Ms Beaumont Canteen Letter

Dear Ms Beaumont

I love the canteen  but I think we should spice it up a little bit. What about getting some new food items.

We could have Banana Bread because we are already getting banana’s for the frozen treats and It would be a nice treat at lunchtime.  

We could also have Sausage Rolls because they are a bit of meat which is healthy for as long as you don’t eat too much of it.   

Another idea that I had was Pikelets because they are easy to make and quite healthy if you don’t put maple syrup on them.  

One more idea that I had was Toasties because on a cold day they will warm you up inside.

Fractions and Quilts

This week we have learnt how to calculate equivalent fractions and improper fractions. Also we have finished our quilts about ourselves and our favourite things.

We made fruit kebabs in food tec this week next week we're making snack rolls.

We are back at school already those holidays went fast. This week at school has been fun catching up with friends and finding out how their holidays went.

Journal entry

Journal Entry Billy

I wish I could have taken that hit instead of Don. If I could turn back the time and take that hit I would. Everytime I think of Don I feel a tear start to trickle down my face. Whenever I hear a bang or pound I think of Don. I wish I would have known that he was a scab earlier and I would have forgiven him straight away. The waihi strike was peaceful and quiet until the Commissioner decided to take charge. When I looked into Don’s eyes I knew that he was really sorry about lying and I knew that he wasn’t like that anymore. Well we ended up on the same side in the end.      

This week in room 11 we have been writing journal entry's about a story called in the end. The soldiers best friend just died and we wrote a journal entry about it. It had to be powerful and dramatic.
